Trinushka Perera

2016 Scholarship Recipient

Trinushka Perera graduated with BS in Sociology from the University of West Georgia (UWG) in Fall 2016. Having a vast passion and interest in giving back to society through her leadership and engagement, she was a successful recipient of the Georgia Rotary Student Program Scholarship in 2015 and represented Sri Lanka as Student Ambassador for Rotary International.

Throughout her educational career, she worked with different communities and engaged in research in a variety of fields. As a psychiatric social worker and social work researcher, she's participated in cultural exchange programs to Germany and Egypt to work with children. She is a proud holder of many awards and honors, namely some, Dean’s list at UWG for two consecutive years, 2015 Multicultural Achievement Program Award recipient, International Dean’s list recipient, Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology Honor Society recipient and Highest GPA recipient for three consecutive years at her home institution.

A vibrant student, she intended to follow her time at UWG in pursuit of a M.A. in Diplomacy and International Relations at Seton Hall University in New York. Her ultimate aim is to be a Career Diplomat, working for the United Nations, as a representative of her country, and we are proud to have had her as our 2016 CJWC Scholarship recipient.
